Making waves for conservation in Brazil

This month has been a great opportunity to put conservation in the spotlight while the DARWIN200 project aboard tall ship Oosterschelde was in port in Fernando de Noronha, Salvador Bahia and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Working remotely to coordinate the press office across global time zones was no small undertaking!

But I'm very pleased with what we've pulled off.

So far we've seen 50+ pieces of trophy level coverage around the world including Associated Press multiple TV and written reports, LIVE broadcast from the ship on Globo TV (Globo is the most-watched TV channel in Brazil and its viewer numbers are more than all of the next 16 most-viewed channels combined), and interviews in magazines like Brazilian weekly news magazine Veja sharing important stories from the ship and DARWIN200 mission.

The ship will set sail this week to Uruguay and some big reports are still to come so watch this space!!
